first off the low life that called you a bit.ch was way out of line. and as far as an ak-47 there are many variants of them available. even the russian ones have become available from the manufacturer saiga. most countries have made there own versions. all based on the same design that mikhail kalishnikov designed. if you are looking for a vietnam era ak-47 be prepared to spend some tall cash. $1000+ would be an average combat rifle. a collector piece will run alot more. being in that era im sure youre husband must be very familiar with an m-16. but it is well known that alot of u.s service men took the ak-47s from enemys because they were more reliable. not nearly as accurate though. with the addition of chrome lined chambers and the forward assist the m-16 became much more reliable. they also changed to stick powder which made a vast reliability improvement. www.gunbroker.com is a great auction site for firearms. also shotgun news magazine is a great place to find collector firearms. i hope you find what you want. by the way i have a nice russian saiga with a factory side mount that i will get rid of for a very fair price. email or instant message me if you want more details.

Egyptian Maadi Ak 47 Price

AK-47s are qutie common and pretty easy to find. You probably can't find them at "Sporting Goods" stores like Gander Mountain or Bass Pro Shops, but you might find one at a local gun store.

If there are gun shows in your area, there will be a ton of them there. The problem is that they tend to be of low quality and way overpriced.

Some military surplus stores have FFLs and carry such guns. A lot of them do not put them on display. You might have to ask to see them (call first to see if the store sells guns to begin with).

You can also buy one online. The transaction needs to take place between FFL holders to make it legal (expect to pay between $20 and $100 for a local FFL holder to do the transaction for you. Two sites you can look at are:

http://www.gunsamerica.com
http://www.gunbroker.com

Many people are not comfortable buying guns online and I do not blame them. You can look on these websites to see if someone local is selling one. You can also use an "escrow service" to avoid getting ripped off (you may need to pay about 1.5% of the transaction price for this service). The gunbroker.com has a list of escrow services that handle firearms.

Finally, if there is a local gun club or shooting range, you can visit or call and let someone know what you are looking for. At the range, there always seems to be someone who is short on cash and might sell you an AK-47 for very reasonable.

As someone mentioned, there are countless variations of the AK-47. They are made in different countries and have different features (bayonets, bayonet lugs, different stock cofigurations, different cartridges used...though the 7.62x39mm us standard, there are some that shoot something different).

If you are looking for a "real" fully-auto Chinese or Russian AK-47, expect to pay top dollar and you need to find a Class 3 license holder to hold the weapon for you when not in use (kind of defeats the gun case reason for buying one).

Check out the websites and see if you can find a brand/configuration that your husband likes. This will give you an idea of what to expect to spend.

Personally, I have an Egyptian Maadi AK-47 and I wish I had never bought the thing. Then again, I'm not an assault weapon kind of guy. I bought it in a moment of weakness.

It should be relativaly easy to find one . I live in MI and they sell them for under $300 at dunhams sports, its like Big 5. If neither of these stores are available in your area i would check at a gun show. As long as you dont live in CA you can also buy one off of www.Gunbroker.com , Its the ebay of guns. They also have a feature that lets you find an FFL dealer in your area just by typeing in your area code. Many ffl dealers listed have there fee listed. Don't pay more than $30 fee for there service, some are only $10 .

Depends on what state you are living in. There are alot of gun trader magazines you can find people who can help you out. Try a local NRA club or a gun show in your area.

Almost any gun dealer can order you one, they are listed in shotgun news and almost all wholesale gun magazines for sale.
Most of the gun dealers in my state keep them in stock.
