being tired has nothing to do with it.

I don't think so. Not that they intentionally lie, but as your mind begins to shut down, all of the thoughts and events of the day begin to try to "catalog" themselves and can become jumbled. I guess it really depends on how tired they are. Personally, there have been points where I was on the phone and so tired that I did not even remember parts of the conversation the next day. Fortunately it was only my mother. :) lol

Tired isn't like drunk. Just because you are tired, you are still in control of what u say. Saying things like "I love you" on the phone instead of in person is just safer for some people. They may be too nervous to say it in person and be rejected. It's the same thing as being "online" with someone. They will perhaps say things they wouldn't say to your face because it is much easier if they fear your reaction.

um... no.
I have been tired many times on the phone and usually upset with the person who is talking to me "while" I am so tired... yet I remain civil and still manage to think out what I say so I won't offend them. For instance... "Did I wake you up?" "Yea... but I was going to get up anyway..."
Don't read to much into this little slip of the tongue over the phone...

Don't read too much into it. I know if I'm beat I'll say anything to get someone off the phone so I can go to sleep.
