I need a song for a father daughter dance for my wedding. I need something a bit more rock, NO country please! Also keep in mind I want it to be a slow song that I can dance to with my father! I would prefer the song to be rock of some sort, nothing to heavy though! The lyrics are important...it needs to actually resemble family!

Just a little bit more rock, and something different. Butterfly Kisses is used by everyone. I want something that not too many people have used!

My sister and dad danced to "little miss magic", I think by Jimmy Buffett at her wedding! EVERYONE loved it!! You should check it out!!

Here are the lyrics!!

She's constantly amazed by the blades of
the fan on the ceiling
And the funny little faces she makes
can't help but be appealing
She loves to ride through the town with the top down
Feel the warm breeze on her gentle skin
She is my next of kin

[Chorus:]
I see a little more of me everyday
I catch a little more moustache turning grey
Your mother is the only other woman for me
Little Miss Magic what you gonna be?

Sometimes I catch her dreaming and wonder
where that little mind meanders
Is she down along the shore or
strolling cross the broad Savannah's
I know in time she'll learn to make up her own mind
In time she's gonna learn to fly
Oh that I won't deny

[Chorus]

It's raining it's pouring
Your old man is snoring

How about Wild World, by Cat Stevens? If you really listen to the lyrics, you will gather than it is really about an ex-girlfriend, but it also works for a father/daughter song, because he's giving her sort of advice like "Hope you make a lot of nice friends out there," and stuff like that. I think it is one of the bestr father-daughter songs because it's not so nauseatingly mushy and it's got a nice beat for a father-daughter dance: not too fast, not too slow.

ooh, i've thought long and hard, 'dance with my father' which has been covered by various artists, though most of them are country and r&b isn't really specific to your needs lyrically:

i'm very suprised to have come up with only one suggestion that sort of meets your specification:

more than words by extreme

they're a rock band, it's a nice tune and it fits for weddings, the lyrics won't offend your father/daughter relationship ... i wish i could do better! I thought bon jovi eric clapton or train might have had something but they don't :-)

* * * * i've just thought another tune that would DEFINITELY fit your desription it's

Ray Charle's 'you are so beautiful to me!'

It's more blues than rock & it's a bit short being only a couple of minutes long but it's a tear jerker guaranteed (just voice and piano) I think you should get a hold of it.

hey good luck with the wedding! I hope you're equally as lucky as your man is for marrying you!!

I danced with my father to "Father and Daughter" by Paul Simon. It is cute and upbeat, and perfectly describes the light-hearted relationship I have with my father instead of the super-sappy mushy songs or the ones that are really about lovers but people use as father and daughter songs.

The only downside to this song is that it isn't as slow as the super-mushy songs. We didn't have problems dancing to it, though.

How about "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie wonder. I danced to it on my wedding day for the father/daughter dance. We did something different, it is a little more up beat and we danced a little less formal.
