I dont talk to my parents very much but the other day i called them to see what there plans are for thanksgiving. My dad called me back and he said that he is unemployed and he needs to borow money. Well i know that he is reitred and i know that ive called a couple of times to tell them im unemployed but never to borrow money i only call to ask for advice. Now i know that he was meesing with me but why would my dad of all people do this.

When you called to tell them you are unemployed and did not ask for money, they probably thought you had some back up. Maybe your dad intends to borrow money from you and give it back to you. Maybe he doesn't want to ask anyone else and has pride in the way. If you have your concerns, lend a small amount and tell him that's how much you were able to take out for him. He could really be in need. See how he handles things and take it on from there...

Maybe he's just trying to let you know how it feels for people to mooch money from other people. My dad always tells me he needs to borrow money from me but he is always joking. Try calling them more often than to just borrow something or to find out when the meal will be served. You should be ashamed of yourself.

If your dad was messing with you, why are you having a problem with it. Sounds like you need to relax a bit and try to get a little closer to your parents. they wont be here forever
