What is in the man's heart is still in his heart whether he is drunk or sober. Telling the truth is like gold trapped inside ore.
Pressure, heat, fire, and time combined together bring out the impurities in and around the precious metal and eventually pure gold will rise to the top. A man who will tell the truth even if it is difficult is a man that will tell the truth whether or not he is drunk or sober.
Not telling someone everything you know is not always lying. Suppose that a loved one is going through a difficult time. You receive more bad news that would add only misery to their suffering. So you wait until they are stronger and some wounds have healed then you tell them the truth. You don't lie, you concentrate on the postive and wait for the right moment to speak the negative.
If you really want to see if a man really is a person of truth and good character then observe him by this: If he treats the weakest among us with dignity and respect that can do absolutely nothing in return for him the you will know then that man is a good truthful man.

if they do, then they lie all the rest of the time! I think they will say anything to get sex, even when they know that sex is not possible.
I'm speaking from a recent experience, where I was told by a drunk guy that he wanted a relationship with me, but since then, when sober he has done everything within his power to make me hate him.

No. In fact the lies just get bigger and more elaborate. I spent 4 years living in a Fraternity House. Trust me. I lived with guys who were the incarnate Buddha after 5 or 6 beers. Some guys were madly in love with the nearest woman. After 7 or 8 beers, some guys were madly in love with the sofa.
Guys are idiots when drunk.

I'm drunk a lot and the intoxication distorts the truth. At least thats what i tell the women the next day.

Guys and girls CAN speak the truth when drunk. Guys and girls can lie when drunk. Theres no certainty. You have to analyze what they said and if their actions back their statement. Talk is cheap!

When I'm drunk I tell the truth with somethings. But I also lie to tell people what they want to hear. Now I assume someone said something like they cared for you or somehting like that. Now for this I would just say that you have to guess whether or not they mean what they say. I guess it all comes down to trust.

That saying"you cant lie when your drunk" is a lie. How many men come staggering home after doing something "wife/gf unapproved" and say "I had a few drinks,thats all....". My brother in law is not the only one and he's a drunk and a huge lier,cheater.
