As a kid at the same age i used to get them pop up from time to time, and they are annoying. My parents did use a prescription "paint on" chemical" which was horrible and caused scaring. We were told two alternative options which both worked,
The first was applying the white milk from the green leafy weed that grows in your garden and in your lawn, "ragwort". Dot the white milky liquid on the wart every day, it will eventually turn black and fall off.
The second was painting clear nail vanish, one coat every day, over the wart and the same thing happens.
Apparently very common in children her age and they go just as fast as they appear sometimes.

Over-the-counter medications can remove warts. These are applied to the wart every day for several weeks. DO NOT use these medications on your face or genitals. It helps to file the wart down when damp (for example, after a bath or shower) before applying these medications.
Special cushions are available at drugstores for plantar warts. These pads help relieve any pressure and pain from the warts.
Stronger (prescription) medications may be required for removal of persistent warts. Surgical removal or removal by freezing (cryotherapy ), burning (electrocautery ), or laser treatment may be needed.
Immunotherapy, done by injecting a substance that causes an allergic reaction, may also be considered by your doctor.
DO NOT attempt to remove a wart yourself by burning, cutting, tearing, picking, or any other method.
Interestingly, placing duct tape over a wart may help it disappear. A small study had people wear duct tape for six straight days, remove it, wet and scrape the wart down using a file, and then reapply the tape the next morning. This was done until the wart disappeared, for no longer than two months. The people wearing the duct tape had as much luck getting rid of the warts as those who had warts frozen off by a doctor. This method might be worth a try if you have a painless, yet unsightly wart.

My son had warts all over his hands. FYI - They spread it you pick at them or cut them. To remove a wart you need to kill the routes. This would be painful to do at home and maybe dangerous. Diffidently not worth it.
We tried different home remedies and store bought methods but the freezing was the only thing that worked. Some needed two treatments. My son said it hurt a little but it probably depends on the person, the doctor, and where the warts are located.

I know you just said at home not store bought but, i had a wart for years, then it started to grow. It was a in growen wart. Bad. I was at the store looking and ran into a guy that told me what to do. Was he so right 5 days later is was gone and now one year and 4 months later no signs of it or any other.
At any store you get a bottle of natural C vitamins(you might even have them at home). You take one or two and crush add a drip or two of water. Just to make it pasty. put that on it and let dry. Do that as often as you like. My fell off and I continued to use it for 2 days. It worked very good. Good luck and hope I helped!

I cannot help with home remedies. As for the doctors, they freeze them off. It may provide a quick tingle or sting depending on the size of the wart. But it's also a fast and permanent removal.

the doctor may remove them by freezing them off which isnt painful ,I would go to the dr instead of using over the counter medication. for an old home remedy I have heard of putting banana peel on them the yellow part not the inside and tape them over the wart and it will remove it however I havent ever tried this or seen it done I have just read it in home remedy magazines

I saw some stuff advertised on TV, that freezes them off, check the drug store.
Also I heard that Gold makes them go away. Some people that have them around where they wear Gold jewlery say the warts disappeared.
Also I have heard that Colloidal silver can get rid of them too, but I don't know how that works, you would have to read up on it and check your local health food store.
and of course the doctor can cut them off, but who wants to do that if you can find an easy way
