My name is Gemma, I am 35 years old. For the past 2 years my bed ridden grandmother has lived with me, I am her full time carer, I also foster 3 children with severe behavioural issues. My youngest son I adopted when he was a baby and had been neglected. I also arrange fund raisers for terminally ill children at my local hospital.

I had a healthy upbringing and am a very happy, lively person with many friends.

I feel I am a loving, caring, good person and if I were religious I think I would be allowed in to heaven.

What do you think???

...By the way, I'm gay

Cheers for all answers! some of you guessed that I fabricated the truth somewhat, Gemma does exist, she is my Mum (or was my mum at the age of 35) this was the life she led only she wasn't gay. I am and am constantly amazed at the amount of religious people here who would condemn me to hell for leading an 'Immoral' lifestyle. So I conducted a little case study to see how people would react to a saintly individual if they chose to have a loving relationship with a member of the same sex.

The results were just as I predicted, true Christians comended this character for services to her neighbour, non belivers didn't believe it, and evil people masquerading as religious and good couldn't see past the sexuality.

Predictable but effective.

To those of you who gave kind, respectful comments, I will share them with my Mum, thank you x

You seems to be a good person. But no matter how good u are, gay is the biggest sin. It is an unforgivable sin before God.

Now i delivered the true message to u. Its ur decision now what u choose. You have already entered darkness.

A gay can never enter Heaven. Now if u repent & ask for forgiveness before God with full humbleness, by God will u can less ur punishment in the Hell...

Wish u good luck friend...

Hope this will help you get through the rest of your life...

Never, Ever, worry about what a Religious Person thinks about you, as in a actual fact they are usually to stupid have a rational opinion about anything!

If you were GOD in heaven, would like to be surrounded by the bleating of Lost Sheep (Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc...) all day - Christ, I would go MAD!

PS. I am not Gay, and I do not follow any Religion!

I think, based o what you said, you are probably a genuinely good person, and have done more to help others than most people will. Nothing you said, about being gay, would make me change my mind.

Are you asking about whether or not my religion would allow you into heaven? In my religion, Christianity, all the things you've done wont get you into heaven, no will being gay keep you out, accepting or rejecting Christ is the only determining factor.

That's the religious opinion. Personally, I think your fantastic.

Being a good person does not get you everlasting life. Obedience to God and acceptance of his son, Jesus Christ as your savior is necessary. Being gay (being attracted to members of the same sex) is not necessarily a sin unless you refuse to turn away from the conduct that results from this sinful inclination. Just as a person must turn away from stealing or violence or any other thing which is against God's will and shows a lack of control, our love for God must dictate our behavior rather than our love for self.

Some of the religious people would (secretly) think that you should go to see your doctor about that gayness illness you've got there. These people are misguided idiots.

Other religious people may think you should have stuck to your partner and to your own children. These people don't understand how broken down relationships work/happen.

Other religious people and most non-religious people would join me in wishing you well, and reminding you that lots of religious people are sales-people for their faith group. They may tell you gays & foster-parents are welcomed and loved by god only because that's what they expect you to want to hear (hoping they can convince you to join them).

And reminding you that heaven exists only where Noah's Ark; the Seven Plagues; Adam & Eve; Walking on Water and healing all; and many other farfetched stories exist is my way of saying worry more about having a good & positive life than what comes after that.

You need to ask God, not us. Who are we to judge you?

You are doing great work and for that I applaud you. We need more people who can carry out those tasks. But that is not what will get you to heaven, it is your relationship with God. Talk to Him, pray, ask Him what He says about your way of life. Be honest to Him as well. He can search your heart and knows very well what you mean. Psalms 139 verse 4 Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.

I will be clear with you, homosexuality is sin. There is no little or big sin. Its all judged the same. It is an abomination.

Jesus loves you... Turn to Him

"I think you have misunderstood what the message is. You being gay or good is not the issue. Having Jesus is the issue"

"What I think, is of no relevence. What does God think ??
Read the Bible and find out."

"I wont even adress the homosexuality,But too be honest we are saved by grace, not works."

"Its not according to your good deeds. Accepting Jesus as your personal savior and repenting of your sins is the only way for anyone to go to heaven."

"What I think doesn't matter. You should attempt to impress God instead of man. God tells people like you, in the Bible, that the very best you have done is like a piece of filth, good only for the garbage can."

"In my religion, Christianity, all the things you've done wont get you into heaven, no will being gay keep you out, accepting or rejecting Christ is the only determining factor."

What a load of total bollocks. What kind of arogant shît of a god will only allow people into heaven if they worship him. Tell you what, I wouldn't want to go to a place full of sycophantic årselickers. I'm off to hell to have a bit of fun!!

being religious has nothing to do with being able to live with God in heaven. The Bible says you are saved by grace thru faith alone, and then that faith without works is dead. . so ya got the works part down. . now ya gotta get the faith part!! The Bible clearly says that you can't get to heaven through works alone cuz "even when you do good works you are sinning" (It says that in the Bible I promise). Remember that God thinks very differently then we as humans do. . if you want to clarify anything, want to know the verses I used, or just want to ask a ? or argue w/ me, feel free to email me :).

P.S. awesome that you take care of kids w/ behavioral issues. That takes a caring/devoted person. hats off to you!

You do not get to heaven just by [good works]we are saved by grace.

You don't mention if you go to church, are you a Christian, or if you even believe in God. I do believe God is wondering about such a person as you. Can you step up and talk to Him? Can you accept Christ as your Savior? Will you learn what the Bible says? (study the Bible)

You do GREAT works sister! I too have cared for family members but it is not what is going to get me to heaven.

Honey unless I am mistaken we all have to go through purgatory for certain minor sins and as long as you follow these simple rules as much as possible .. No worshipping other gods, No idol making for worshipping, no taking the lords name in vain, No working Sundays, Honor your father and your mother, no murdering people, no adultery, no stealing. no lying and no desiring your neighbours property or wife, you should be absolutely fine. As we already have gay priest etc it really is no big deal even though many people seem to find it is but relax paradise is obtainable to everyone as long as you repent your sins on your death bed so cheer up and keep up the good work
