Okay I've been wanting to dye my hair for a while so I went to Sally's and bought this permanente mix (its like toner to lighten hair cause I have jet black hair) So anyway I put it on my hair but somehow my hair came out carrot top orange! Does anyone have any advice on how I could fix this ASAP without breaking my pockets? Thanks I would really appreciate it!

Most hair will bleach in the following stages: Black, brown, red, orange, yellow blonde, light blonde, white. (Yellow tones can be counteracted by using the relevant Special Effects or Manic Panic Toner).
Black hair is particularly hard to bleach so I would rest it for a while then try another bleaching - using a lower volume bleach if possible (or you can dilute bleach to make a soapcap which is less harmful than regular bleaching). Black hair often needs two bleachings to get to a light base colour unfortunately but only you will know if your hair can stand another bleaching (or soapcap) or not - if it feels dry and brittle leave it alone but if you think it can handle another bleaching go for it after a few days and check regularly - best to remove bleach when hair is at light orange/yellow stage as most colours will go on fine over this or you could use a toner to neutralise yellow tones left by bleaching.
For more info on bleaching, colouring, soapcaps etc you can check on my site...

Dont touch it for a while. It will either fall out of frizz really bad if you try to do anything with it now. You never try to dye your hair a lighter color unless you know what your doing. the best bet would be to wait and when the orange is out then you get highlights [not blond] you need a browns in your hair if you want to lighten them, then go twards the golden colors. If you start out with bleach blonde highlights then your hair will look grey. So go with the meduim browns like no lighter than honey and no darker than chesnut.

You can go to a beauty supply store and by a a color that is amedium to a chestnut brown that does not have any ammonia or peroxide in it. Good Luck. OH also you want to get a really good deep conditioner or the hair will be dry and brittle and eventually fall out.

Your hair is not going to fall out, but you do need to go and get it professionally dyed back to black. I am sorry your hair is orange but they will make it look better. It may be a little costly but at least you will have normal looking hair again.

JC Penny Salon~ But if this is to costly I would call around and go with the cheaper deal. As far as home remedies to fix the problem I am not sure if I know any.

GO TO A PROFESSIONAL IMMEDIATELY!!! jet black hair MUST be stripped before coloring a lighter shade. i suggest a professional for this also, since you obviously don't know much about hair coloring. i am now extra light blonde , it turned out beautiful because i went to school for it.

use a semi-perm. color and color it back dark. You roots came out orange because that is your regrowth without and previous color on it, which reacted different then the part of you hair that already had the color on it. Your going to have to wait it out and color it back dark.....

so much hair fixing like dyeing, curling, straightening, etc. if done at a very rapid succesion can definitely damage your hair. let it rest for a while.
