This seems like a pretty broad generalization to me!

Not racism, a stereotype. Different word. It is a stereotype to call all Americans racist.
A very incorrect one, too.

It is & yes, it is a very broad generalization. In fact, Americans are far less racist and bigoted than most other countries, but far more aware and selfconcious about it. Probably, due to a past history of slavery and being more concerned about being PC than everyone else.

If you get to travel abroad sometime for a visit, you will quickly discover what I am talking about.

They are calling Americans as a Nation racists folks. Everyone knows America is not a race. That doesn't mean Americans can't be racists. A lot of them are. Sorry, had to clarify the point.

This is a broad generalization, and as with most, it is unfair, inaccurate, and prejudicial.

Because it IS a broad generalization, but not racism. Calling all Americans racists does not take race into account, but citizenship -- "American" is not a race.

There could be some long discussions about exactly what "racism" IS. That would lead to more discussions about the definition of the word "IS".

Racism is a base response to "other" people and their cultures. Xenophobia is also in that category. In the tribal setting of our ancestors, it served well to bond people of like interest together, and further their interests and increase the likelihood that their band would survive to pass their genes on to the next generation. In the modern world, it is causing more problems than it solves.

The problem with playing the old worn out, over used and no longer effective race card is the reason they use it ...They do it because it has effectually stopped some anti illegals dialog, the person playing the race card has shut you up and is only trying to divert you from the real problems that illegal aliens bring to this nation.

I don't care how many times they toss the race card,it has absolutely no effect on my views or my expressing them.
Its a ploy to shut the anti illegal up.Don't let them use it,and if they do ,just remember why they use it.Its because they have no viable sensible arguments for illegals being here. They are speaking with emotion, not their brains.I do not react to the race card, its been played out.I know who and what I am and their words do not,can not define me as a person.
Words are simply useless words unless you empower them.Next time ask them for their viable fact filled truth
filled argument and not BS rhetoric.
And of course not everyone in this nation is a racist.

Racism would involve a race, not a nationality. You could either accurately call it a stereotype or a generalization.

It is a broad generalization but American is not a race, so its not racist.
