You stop drinking at work.

I would have fired them on the spot. And if anyone called asking about employment history I would have told them they had been fired and why. Drinking/drugging employees are bad news for employers and it is very important to get the hell rid of these problem people as fast as possible. They ALWAYS do something that causes a catastrophe and costs a ton of money. They reflect extremely poorly on a managers career and/or put a business owners life savings at risk of going up in a puff of smoke.

Its not just her breath she needs to worry about. Alcohol does not just make your breath stink it comes out of your pores. So if she is drinking beer, whiskey or any type of malt liquor its not just her breath that makes people smell alcohol but her skin as well. That's what usually gets you busted.

Just like all the others I'd advise never drinking at work or on your lunch hour. Even if just once, she will have a rep as the "office alkie" until she gets fired (cause her boss is now looking for a reason) or someone else does something dumber.

What I would suggest for the future is that if she must drink during lunch hour that she drink white liquor only (not tequila) and use both gum and a body spray. Your mouth can smell like Listerine all ya want but if your armpits smell like Budweiser you are still busted.

TRUE TRUE. no alcohol at work...but if she must , then brushing her teeth and peppermints don't work. She should try to drink something like Kool-Aid or anything along those lines to get the smell of alcohol off her breath.

Yeah. The SMELL on his or her breath is the real issue here. I suggest you boldly tell your friend to deal with his or her real problem, rather than going to great pains to try and hide what is probably obvious to more people than your friend would care to admit. Contact a pastor, his, yours, or somebody's, and get this person the help he needs.
