It depends if it is for a male or a female. If it's for a female I would advise going to boots and buying a small gift set for a fiver as they are usually really nice. Men are harder to buy for but you could try a pen set or something. For unisex presents there's always gift vouchers or chocolate usually goes down well.

I am not familar with the holliday of xmas. There is one called Christmas though. Prasie the Lord for the birth of Christ!!

A bible would be a nice gift.

Since it's just a co-worker, and I'm sure not an intimate relation, a gift-card always works. And it should be easy to find out where this person likes to shop, or eat, or something.
