It amazes me how so many people come here and give out these sites like freecreditreport.com. These morons simply don't have a clue, or else they get some sort of kickback form sending unsuspecting consumers to these sites.
http://www.annualcreditreport.com is the ONLY site where you can get a free credit report from the three major credit reporting agencies. Any other site is trying to sell you credit monitoring services or some other nonsense.

Unfortunately, there is no "Free" credit reporting site. Just call all three bureaus and request a credit report, which by LAW they must give you for free when requested:
Equifax: 1-866-798-6598
Experian: 1-800-734-4617
TransUnion: 1-800-888-4213

AnnualCreditReport.com is the only government approved site to receive your free credit report from each of the bureaus.
Forget FreeCreditReport.com they ask for your credit card number and want you to join the credit services. FreeCreditReport.com has a free 30-trial, but if you don't cancel, they'll charge you a monthly fee.
AnnualCreditReport.com doesn't ask for your credit card number nor does it require you to sign up for services.

You can write any of the three credit companies, and they are each required to provide one free credit report each year.

Freecreditreport.com--They will ask for a debit or credit card number but they won't charge it...I used a visa gift card that had 30 cents on it and it worked and I still have 30 cents on it :)
