Intelligence, no. There are many intelligent religious people. But I do believe being educated about the various religions of the world and understanding that many traditions are rooted in older ones can have an effect on how you view current religions and, if you're religious, your own.

No, I don't believe so. Religion is very personal, and I feel that you acquire your own beliefs and views from what we live and learn through life. We may be brought up learning a certain belief, or religion, but that is not necessarily what we will end up believing in when we die. We learn love and compassion in life, and that drives you more than intelligence alone.

One has to do with the heart and the other with the brain and in most human they are not connected.Religion is about acting from a set doctrine of belief set down by someones elses interpretation of The Truth which then becomes their truth for others to follow. In contradiction but close association of the heart felt understanding of The Great Creator within each and everyone of us feeling the connectedness between all of us as one being, the human. We are all a part of ,but not seperate from, the whole and as a part of the whole we need to connect the spirit of the heart and the fear of the brain to balance in peace of being one Holy be-ing.

As a student at a major U.S. university well on his way to getting his phD in engineering, I'm going to have to say no.

Though I will say that the gift of intelligence in today's society can often lead to pride. And with pride comes a feeling that we don't need God. This is why you see a large number of "educated" people that have no religious conviction what so ever.

Religion is a group of laws set up by the demnoimation faith you choose. In order to get a better understanding of your denomination and it's religious law's you have to read , interpret , understand and then follow it. Your faith is comes from your inner feelings and your devotion to God. A lot of people change their religions, because of their strictness and unorthodox beliefs. It's up to you to balance your intellegence between how much you are willing to sacrifise toward your religion. Religion only disciplines us to the laws of organizations.

I think our faith, obedience and intentions to our religion are the most important factors. Intelligence is important while choosing the right religion to reach the God.

IQ tests and the prejudices of professional intellectuals tend to be skewed against Christianity. However, the serenity that comes from devotion and the wisdom and focus developed through the discipline of obedience tend to give believers a decided edge in real-life performance.

It's more an issue of what you set your affections on

But intelligence can be a stumbling block, a prideful person is less likely to love God

I found a web site that attempts to link it but of course I have no idea how valid the data was.

The intelligence level vs. choice of and/or devotion to faith seems to be all over the graph around the R&S!

Faith is the important thing in religion, but it's still a learning process through questions, prayer and reading the Bible. No matter how smart you may be, you need to search to keep your Faith strong.
