He did.
So he gave up his kingdom, family and all worldly pleasures.
Ashoka too tried to learn it, but once learnd, he went behind the Buddha.

No, because E=MC^2 is actually a load of crock. Einstein came up with it a long long time ago before we had all the satellites we had in space and before we witnessed all the phenomena we've witnessed since then. Buddha probably knew what made light, lightning, and tornadoes. Buddha probably knew the nature of all things, but kept it a secret from schmucks like you.

He might have known. I speak a lot still I dont speak out everything I know.
For instance I know that I have a mole on the skin that covers triceps of my right hand and is placed 45 degrees towards the back if I stand erect and is 3 inches down from my shoulder.
This data is unnecessary for you unless you try to bring about a wax model of mine. I doubt if it would be necesary even then.
But if I bring about some ground breaking theory to the likes of relativity, it would be heard.
When I share issues with friends and relatives I check if they are concerned in any way. I am an Computer engineer while my mother is a banker. If I explain her SMTP and POP3 mailing it would be relevant as she uses emails. But big Endian and small Endian makes no good use for her.
When I do so think about the super intelligent, enlightened Buddha. He taught what was necessary. He taught the diff between bad and good, necessary things and unnecessary things.
Pentagon does release many a statement. Does any of them cover the blue prints for a icbm or other confidential matter. No. They know what to say and what not to. So did Buddha. He wouldnt have given it into the wrong or unfit hands.
More over it does not matter if he did not know. He never claimed to know everything. Enlightenment is the ability to differentiate bw good and bad, necessary things and unnecessary things. To be in peace and happiness unconditionally. To be in peace even when the thumb bleeds by accidental cut caused by a friend or a one who considers you an enemy but you show no enemity. He knew what was necessary for the world at his time and later so that the world lives in peace.
Einstein was more of a scientist though he was a spiritualist. His spiritualist ideas were at their peak after hiroshima attack. He cried aloud for peace and pleaded to forget his "e=mc^2" and all those developments in physics after his unveiling the formula as it led to death of hundreds of thousands of humans, leave alone other beings. It was 40 years after he gave the base for the branch of nuclear physics that hiroshima was destroyed. though he never took part in development it was his formula that gave the idea. He is not the father of nukes but great grandfather. He gave it for good intentions. It fell into the wrong hands of USA.
Buddha wouldnt have given such a lethal weapon to anyone for he loved all and was an advocate of peace and not nukes. I wouldnt have given the formula out in 1905 if i knew it would lead to nukes. Neither would Einstein have it done if at all he knew.
Buddha was still great and is great though he called the Vedas of Hindus falsehood(vedas even cover the speed of light, molecular formula of water, radius of earth and a lot more correct things). Still that can be forgiven for he too was human and susceptible to errors.

Note:
SI system for physical units say energy has to be represented by "e" and not "E", mass as "m" and not "M". Only those units which are name of scientists can be used in caps like "N" for Newton and not "n", "W" for Watt and not "w". SI system is the standard for humans. Even if use Foot Pound system you have to follow the above conventions.

Did anyone before Einstein came up with E=MC2 know it? Did Jesus? Did Mohammad? Did Moses? Of course not. Most people today except PhD physicists thoroughly understand the formula.

Those sort of questions were not what The Buddha concerned himself with. The cause of suffering and how to stop suffering is what interested him and he found the answer.
