Great question! So many people get this backwards, thinking that you must first believe to be born again when the Bible teaches exactly the opposite.

In John, Chapter 3, Nicodemus asks Jesus how one can be born again. Jesus did NOT say, "repent and believe and you'll be born again". Rather, He drew the analogy of the wind to the Holy Spirit (which is also a play on words in the original Greek), saying that just as the wind blows where ever it wishes, so God the Holy Spirit goes where ever He wishes and gives new birth to those He chooses.

Jesus was effectively saying, "How can you be born again? YOU can't. God must grant it and until He does, you can not even SEE the kingdom of God" (John 3:3)

See also John 1:12-13:
"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God."

Being born again is not of the "will of man"/human decision. It is "of God".

In short, no one chooses to be born again. God must grant it.

YOU ( HAVE TO BE)) BAPTIZED FOR THE REMISSION OF YOUR SINS(GO COMPLETELY UNDER WATER) THIS IS THE symbol of the GRAVE of Christ, when you come up out of the water you are born, again by the Spirit of God, just like Christ was when he arose from the dead, by the Spirit of God... Then you are a new born Christian innocent, like a new born babe,, no sin is on you what so ever.. (BUT) YOU have to mean it and believe it with all your heart,,( believe what??) That JESUS CHRIST is the son of God, and that he came here and died on the cross so you and all mankind could be saved, from death(spiritual death) and hell for all eternity. This is the only way to go to Heaven.. (IF you do this with a true heart...) If you don't truly believe all this,, then all you are doing when you get baptized is getting wet.. I hope and pray I explained this to you so you can understand how important it is to be baptized for the remission of your sins. God bless you.

I was once told that "being born again" is just a simple way to start your life over and expect EVERYONE to forgive you for all the bad you have done, all the people you have hurt, etc... Claiming you deserve to be forgiven by the rest of us because you brought God into it.

I guess that makes sense unless you are born again... you may find fault in that definition.

It says in the Bible that whoever accepts Jesus as the Christ, who died for our sins so that we may have life everlasting, will be born again. It's believing in our Savior to get to our Father. The Holy Spirit will be in you. You will live according to Gods will and not mans.

Born again-From a variation of G1085; to procreate (properly of the father, but by extension of the mother); figuratively to regenerate: - bear, beget, be born, bring forth, conceive, be delivered of, gender, make, spring.

When you accept Jesus as your savior, as the one who died on the cross for your sins, and you turned your life over to Him after you repented of your sins, what takes place then is referred to as "the circumisision of the soul from the body". The soul then becomes separated from your body and then belongs to Jesus as His new temple of which He then lives.

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

It is a spriitual re-birth where satan can never touch your soul, but he still can do what ever he wants to with your flesh by way of trying to make you fall short of the Glory of God when you commit sins. This is why it is imparative that we repent of our sins daily and acknowledge ememdiately when we sin and repent of them.

Eventually through practice and prayer and the building up of your relationship with Jesus, that you will be able to strengthen your ability to resist the temptation of repeating that sin which has become and is reffered to as a bad habit of yours. IF you have a "bad habit" that is not rightous in the eyes of God it is a sin.

If you wish to accept Jesus as your savior, all you need to do is say this prayer, and salvation shall be given to you, but only if you are sincere in your turning your life over to the Lord. He knows when you are sincere or not.

"Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve you always." In the precious name of Jesus, amen

Did you pray this prayer? I pray your answer was YES
