As I said, I'm looking for more common causes, which obviously are more likely than major diseases.

Have you changed your laundry detergent or softener? Your soap or body wash? It could be irritated dry skin that just needs moisturizer (try Eucerin).
If there is fever present (even a low, non-persistant one) though, you really should go to the Dr, or if this question is in regards to a child rather than an adult.

If it's a regularly occurring rash it may be caused by an allergy to jewellery, washing detergent or fabric softner or certain fabrics like wool or angora. It could also be caused by heat.

Use a natural remedy like tea tree oil natural oils mixed with
zink ointment............................................................................
get the chemist to mix it for you...............................................
