Toyota is a Good Vehicle because of the following reasons;

Their parts are Defect Free. Therefore, the automobiles last longer and have fewer recalls or problems.

Toyota's Manufacturing is considered the Best In Class, world wide.

All engineers and manufacturing specialists must be trained at the Toyota Manufacturing Institute.

Any Toyota person on the Production line can stop the line, if that person sees a defect or a Process problem.

Toyota has no Unions. So, they are not burdened with additional costs that GM, Ford and others are faced with.

Toyota's re-sale value is the Highest in the Industry.

The Lease contracts with Toyota are among the Lowest costs in the USA. The interest rate within a Lease is lower than that of a Bank or a credit Union.

However, It is still true that GM and Ford produce some of the best automobiles in the world....Corvette, Mustang and the Caddy, and GM and Ford trucks are excellent.

As a teen , my first car was a Ford...my second car was a Plymouth Convertible. My New cars were all GM...Pontiac Gran Am.

At this time, I have 2 Toyota's...a Rav 4 SUV and a Corolla. During the past 10 years I have Leased 3 Rav 4 and 3 Collolla vehicles.

During that time period, neither vehicle has been to the shop for repairs, except for scheduled Vehicle maintenance.

See the attached URL for Toyota's success story:

THIER NOT, THE NEW CHEVY IS THE BEST. (the reason I say "new" is because thier core values have changed). Instead of pumping money into marketing and ads they decided to put higher quality parts in. Instead of making more cheap vehicles, they'll make less good vehicles. Thier new ratings show this, and it has really helped GM begin to comeback. Last year Toyota had the most recalls, but the media "failed" to notice since millions would stand against them because of thier reputation. These days reputation is nothing, technology advances so fast it cant keep up. For ex: three years ago GM was one of the worst companies, now they have the most top-rated vehicles, and the quality/reliability surpasses Toyota. Honda is still on top of the reliability ratings. Ford also had more recalls than GM and DaimlerChrysler combined, for reasons like exploding engines and wheels falling off. Here is a quote from the Washington Posts review of the Toyota CAmry "one of which is the Chevrolet Malibu, which in my real-world driving experience has been every bit as good and reliable as the much-ballyhooed Camry but has been maligned primarily because it is a Chevrolet". Oddly enough that was an '04 Malibu VS the totally redisigned '07 Camry. Common problems with Toyotas are plastic rattling until it falls off. People then complain that when they take it to the dealer to be fixed they just say "The cars are made with so much plastic its practically impossible to fix" GM is also the worlds fastest growing manufacturer, and that dosent happen by accident.

Basically Ford, Chevy and Dodge where the heavy builders and had to deal with the pressure of filling orders and to do so manufactures cut corners and vendors sent out crappy parts due to the same thing, no time to pay attention to details...just like Toyota, Nissan and Honda are doing now and their recalls and issues are rising. Also look at the type of people driving them as well, if you dont take care of it and run it to the ground it will crap out on you as well. I have had Honda, Chevy, Ford Dodge and Jeep and tell you the truth I have had way more trouble with Honda, but I am good at finding lemons. They all have them and they all have recalls.....its all in what the media and the propaganda thats sent out wants you to hear. If the media all went out and said a certain beverage was better for you I bet everyone would start to follow suite and believe.

*You never see a Toyota on a used lot..

My family drives nothing but Toyota. There are 4 toyato RAV4, 1 Toyota Tacoma, 1 Toyota highlander, and 1 Toyota Camry. Every car we have ever had has been Toyota. my mom had a 86'Toyota corolla that had over 200,000 miles on it and traded it in for a 97' Toyota RAV4. My 96' Toyota RAV4 has 178,000 miles on it and still runs great. I know a lot of people that got different makes and have had a lot of problems with them. like Plymouth are known for the radiators, dodge-engines, intrepid, the computer..but what are Toyota's known for?? Running forever!!

I really don't think Toyota is all that much better than American cars are nowadays. Back in the late 80s and they made a name for themselves that has kinda rolled over. Not all Toyotas are made in Kentucky. Look at the first digit in you rVIN #. They are as follows:
1=USA
2=Canada
3=Mexico
4 or 5= USA foreign trade zone
J=Japan

Toyota's are no better than any other car manufacturor in the world. They all use the same technology and parts and most Toyotas are built in Kentucky and use some Chevy parts. The bottom line is all cars are about the same, its how you maintain them that makes them a great car

Reliability has held up well over the years, it doesn't show any sign of slowing down or falling apart at 100,000 miles unlike the American makes.

They last a long time. I've had my corolla for 10 years with no major problems, and I've been rear ended three times in it. They are just made to last.
