this guy has been chasing me for a while. we have only kissed eachother recently. we are not dating. he did want to take things further but i said no. he is still chasing me. how can i be sure that he is really interested in me and not just chasing me for sex?

The only way to know that is to keep your legs closed and don't give him sex!! That is how you find out if its you he is after and not just whats in your pants.

I say take it slow this guy may be the type that likes because you are it slow and playing hard to get(which is good). If he really like you he will keep chasing you. Or he can be the type of guy that do want to have sex with you, and he will keep chasing until he get you! To see what type of guy he is you have to give a small change! Like go on a date and only give him kisses&hugs, if he try to take it further than let him know. Then if he still trying to have sex after you told him NO then do just want sex.

I think you have answered that question in your own question lol, you have already said no to sex but he is still chasing you that obviously means he likes you not just for sex.
although there is a saying the chase is better than the catch, the i cant get her factor could be appealing to him too.
i'd say dont worry and see how things go.

The real question is, do you want to have sex with him? If he wanted to take things further, he's up for it. Are you?
Then you need to ask yourself if he only wants a one-night stand or a relationship. I'd say he just wants sex from you. If he doesn't seem interested in you as a person, he just wants a one-nighter.

aww honey, this is all down to you i'm afraid, if he likes you he will treat you like a princess and not even try anything remotely sleazy, then again he might try and hop into bed with you and in which case your willpower has to kick in. You won't know until you start seeing this guy or at least go out on a date.
Maybe have a word with some people who know him and then you will be able to get an oppionion on what hes like with other ladies.

IF he wants more than the booty he will take the time to get to know you, date you and romance you..if he's not doing that, he only wants the booty..if he is trying to rush you, it's only a booty call...i think the most important thing for you to remember is your own self respect...don't let any guy try to intimidate or force you to do something you are not prepared or willing to do..the most important reason to have sex is because we are in love with someone..not just for physical gratification or to be another notch in the headboard

Go out with him on a few dates, and DON'T have sex with him.
If he's really interested in you as a person he will be prepared to wait until you are sure you want to take the realtionship further.
If he really pressures you for sex, ditch him - you'll know he's only after one thing.

You should be very careful because he wants to have sex with you but then after you turned him down he could and probaly will do evrything to try and change your mind like buy you things and sweet talk you and etc..... but you should stand your ground and after all that if he is still in your life then he just might not be after what other guys are after!

Well, it seems as if sex is the only thing he's after. Does he want a relationship? Is he willing to wait for sex? If the answer is no, then it is apperant sex is his main objective.
