For my first visit to the united states i will be stayin there. some ppl didnt tell me good things about it. far from what i have seen thru pictures, seems like a calm place.

I lived 30 minutes south of Scranton, PA for several years and used to go out to some bars in the town. I found it to be a fun place with mostly pleasant people. In the winter there is great skiing and many of the ski resorts in the Pocono Mountains are local or within driving distance. You don't need to ski to go to these places and have fun by the way. Scranton and some of the nearby towns are full of historical sites and lots of fun places to shop. You should have no trouble enjoying yourself, but please ask someone local, preferably a police officer if there are places to avoid. Every town and city has areas where troublemakers tend to congregate. Best of luck. Shawn
