I don't promote my "religion" but I do promote Jesus Christ as they way, the truth and the life. The Bible instructs me to do that -"go into all the world and preach the gospel."

Should people of all religions listen to what Jesus has to say about this? Yes. Unfortunately, people of all religions don't believe in Jesus. That's why they don't listen to what He has to say. That's why they are destroying innocent people in the name of "God" because they don't know who He is.

Yes that is the problem with the people around the world, root source for any misery is Ego, in Hinduism we are taught that different religions are different paths towards God or divinity.
It teaches us that no religion is superior or inferior.
All the religion try to teach only one Moral in Common " Be Good and Do Good."
Ego that is the feeling of "I", "Great", "Supreme" is the source for trouble in the world. Every religion tries to teach to destroy the Self Ego but no one listens.
The people who teach that their religion is great are infact teaching hatred.
It does not matter what religion you are following it is important whether you are following the priniciple "Be Good and Do Good".

I'm not really sure what your point is. Are you for or against people promoting their religion???

Promoting what one believes and holds dear makes perfect sense to me. It's only human nature to try to share something that is important to you with other people.

What doesn't make sense to me is when people seem to take great pleasure in tearing down others' religions. That just seems sadistic to me, and there is plenty of it going on here everyday.

I'm a Christian. I think you've just nudged me away from Christianity a bit. Don't worry. I'm not going to Islam because I think both Christianity and Islam are the same. You are all petty and UnGodly. I'm going to Budhism. They don't encourage killing over there.. Even in God's name... Shish.. All of you are such a dissapointment. You've ever heard of Budhist belittling your religion?

You are really promoting your religion right now. Hope you are getting great pleasure. I think you are wrong----to each his own. But, I believe G-d is One---not a trinity.

My religion does not promote to get converts--they discourage it.

If your faith makes you feel good it is natural you would want to share it.

BUT! ---

You should share only when you are asked!

Islam is not demonic.

edit -- Don, neither you nor anyone else "know" that the person next to you is going to hell. Only the god you claim belief in "knows". The responsiblity for the ultimate fate of a person's soul is their own perogative.

I can only speak for myself. I am agnostic and I HATE when someone tries to shove their religious rhetoric down my throat. I live in the South or the so called Bible belt, which I refer to as the hypocrite belt and when you tell anyone here that you aren't a Christian, they look at you as if you just slapped them. It's ridiculous.

i listen to what he says

I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your
God." (John 20:17 RSV 1952)

Do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven." (Matthew 23:1,9 NIV 1984)

Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone." (Mark 10:18)

I can do nothing of my own authority" (John 5:30)

The words that I say to you I do not speak of my own authority." (John 14:10 RSV)

The Father is greater than I." (John 14:28 RSV)

MEANING FOR US TO SUBMIT TO GOD ALONE
not to Jesus a.s

Hmmmm, shouldn't you be asking yourself this question?

I enjoy making peoples' lives better through freedom from oppressive myths and folklore and promoting consciousness and thinking things through for oneself.
