the best way to get started, is to go to onemodelplace.com and sign up. Start out by doing TFP (time for print) photoshoots. That mean instead of getting paid, you get prints of the pictures you took. TFCD is where you get them on a cd (helpful when yu need to upload them online) get some good pictures of yourself with a digital camera or by scanning images. Make sure they are of good quality and try not to take pictures with a web cam. Buy some thick white background or cloth that is not fluffy or shiny, and buy some Ge reveal white light light bulbs. Set up lights above you and below you to get rid of some harsh shadows. Also, download paint.net for free (do a yahoo search for it) Use that to edit or brighten any photo you need. If you have any more questions or need any more help, feel free to email me. Thanks.

start by having a friend with a camera shoot shots of you then review those shots and see how they look as compared to those you like in a magazine then work slowly to improve how you look in the shots keep at it until you have a portfolio of what you think are good shots now comes the hard part. go to a good professional photog and have them shot another folio of shots for you then see the difference. If you think you look really good in the pro shots and they impress your friends as well then shop around for the agency that you like the models of and send them a copy of your folio with a cover letter telling them about yourself and your intention to try to break into modeling good luck
