Of course. I'm an atheist but I have a sense of morality and ethics that I adhere to. I don't know why religion would be considered as a means of encouraging morality-encouraging hypocrisy perhaps.

religion was the source for moral codes.

but now it makes no difference to be honest, you see so called religious people doing the worst things and you see Atheists doing the noblest things and you see true religous people doing the noblest things and you see Atheists doing the worst things.

people learned the moral codes and knew right from wrong.

There would be law, but no accountability to obey them. The fact that our prisons are bursting at the seams is evidence that a great many people do not respect the law, which is based upon moral codes. The vast majority of people obey the law, or give the appearance of obeying the law, because of accountability in the hereafter. Without belief in God there is no incentive to adhere to any moral standard.

Yes, there would. Morality, altruism, and "goodness" are things that have evolved in us. Game theory explains that being a "nice guy" is a more stable evolutionary strategy than being a "bad guy," meaning that natural selection will favor those who are "nice guys."

Two books by Richard Dawkins cover this topic well... The Selfish Gene, and also his most recent, The God Delusion.

Of course there would be. I don't follow any religion and I try to live up to high morals. Of course we all slip now and again, but that's just human nature.
