It is not typical for a child that young to have lost any baby teeth...so what would you think??

I am glad for the responces I'm getting to this question...my daughter knocked her tooth out at this age and I was always paranoid that people thought I wasn't taking good care of her (by not brushing her teeth). Just have to point out that she is 6 now and cavity-free...lol! I have gotten a few comments, however, especially if she happened to be eating a lollipop or chewing gum...phew! It's all in my sick little head :)

Okay i will be honest before i had my son i would have probably thought that the kid had to get its tooth taken out because it had ate too many sweets,
But now being a mother myself i would probably think that the child had fell and knocked the tooth out.

Shows how opinions change when you become a mother yourself.

Honestly, I wouldn't think anything in particular about it. I have a 2.5 yr old who does not have his top front teeth. They had to be removed due to baby tooth decay (a result of chipped/cracked teeth because he would bite down on everything from keys to the window sill!!) When he smiles he looks like a little vampire - but the cutest vampire ever! I have only had one comment made in the past 8 months since the teeth were removed. Most people really don't think anything of it - they just think he's a cute kid.

My first thought would be that he fell or smacked his face on something. Kids that age are notoriously accident prone. My own son has had so many bruises on his forehead from falling down and smacking his head on the coffee table that I thought for sure someone would turn me in for suspected child abuse! So it wouldn't surprise me if that's what happened to the child. However, if the child seems to be afraid around a parent, or if they have other bruises, then appropriate action should be taken.

I honestly wouldnt think anything as we had a son that was 4 and lost a tooth while playing. He fell and knocked it right out.

Seeing as children don't sart to lose thier baby teeth until they are 5 or 6 years old, I would think that he did a face plant into the coffee table or something.

I would think that she hit it, and it fell out. I don't know how many times my kids have bumped into something and I've thought how lucky they are they didn't lose a tooth. Don't worry, abuse is the last thing I would think!

My son almost lost his front tooth at 2 yrs old, we got lucky and it didn't fall out, but it is "dead" appears somewhat darker than his other front tooth. He was running with a metal tonka truck and fell and hit it.

So I would think something along that line :)

i would think either he fell or he has abusive parents. if u kno some 1 like that then dont look suspicious but watch them when u can and c if he lives in an abusive home. if so do something 4 the childs sake!!

I would think he accidently lost it. I would think that becuase when my daughter was 5, she accidently had her 2 front teeth knocked out...it took until she was 8 for them to come in.

Was it a swingset or pavement? or both?LOL

Seriously, that is what went through my head, followed by bike accident or rough housing.

I would figure the kid fell somehow because he's too young to lose a baby tooth.
