They need to grow up and realize that it is just a game! A lot of the people, though that stand in line buy as many as they can and they put them on Ebay for more than twice what they are worth, and some parents are so afraid of disappointing their children at Christmas that they are willing to pay the extra money. Sorry, but my son will NEVER have a video game unless he saves his allowance to purchase it himself, and he will have time limits if he does get one.

The reason they get violent and stuff isn't over the video system....its because they realize that the people in line must have at least 600 dollars to spend on a system...therefore these people must have lots of money on them.... thats a good enough reason to attempt a robbery on anyone. People are desperate. Money means a lot to everyone. Especially in our demanding society. I don't think its about the kids anymore....i think they are buying the systems for themselves. Its better that the kids are at home playing video games than running around doing drugs.

i do admit it is incrediably silly to stand in line for 30+ hours just to have bragging rights of owning the first of a particular gaming system. for me it is much more logical to wait until there are many then see what other users think about the system and make an educated purchase. i am 35 years old and still enjoy playing video games because for me it is a release from the stresses of everyday life. but to each his own i guess.

I agree with you, but I think many of those people in line were scalpers looking to sell the goods on ebay for three times or more the price.
I am an adult and I play some video games, but I don't watch soaps and I do it to keep dexterity and my thinking skills active. They DO have some benefits-the non-violent ones, that is.

Most of those are going to flip them to make more money anyway.
Why do people stand in lines on Black Friday and trample others and push/shove/run people over with carts either?
We have become a society of consumers and "gotta have it now". It's all just ephemeral stuff anyway.

Exactly. When I was first married I was shocked to see that my husband still plays hours of computer games every day. Apparently only the lucky ones grow out of it. I guess it's just his way of unwinding (not that I think it's a good way)

I agree. I understand that people want to get the videogame berfore anyone else, but that's no reason to be violent. I guess they want to brag to their friends that they have an expensive game on the day it came out and parents want to make their children happy.

they grew up playing video games and never learned about acting mature. Now they are passing that on to their kids. they say video games dont cause problems but i dont see how that can be true.

yup mindless zombie's wasting hours a day in front of the tv while there marriages, homes, and occupation fall apart. they are such fun. i think the reason is for once they are in control of something...could explain why people get so angry when they loose.
