I Want to buy a new SRL and I have found these 2 models, in Europe the eos 400D and in USA the Rebel TXi, and they seem to be the same, it is that right?? or there are differences between them?

wtf, vamp?!
Yes, the 400D and the XTi are the same. (And the 350D is the same as the Rebel XT.)

dSLR cameras such as the one you have have a mirror in them that reflects the light from the lens up to the view finder so that you are actually looking through the lens when you are looking through the viewfinder. This mirror prevents the light from hitting the sensor and thus nothing is being displayed on the LCD screen. Newer dSLRs (such as the XSi and the X1T) have a mode called "live view" where you can do what you are asking - see the image on the LCD screen like a Point and Shoot Camera does. Generally however, this is actually not the best way to set up pictures to be honest. Looking through the viewfinder is usually better as it blocks off all extraneous light and allows you to really see what the lens is seeing. Live View tends to be handy when you have the camera on a tri-pod and you are trying to do macro photography for example. Anyhow - the long and the short of it is, the XTi (which I have) does not have this feature so you have to use the view finder.
