My girlfriend is going to alchohol rehab and Im curious what its like. What do you do? How long is it? Does it work?

All rehabs are different. Some last 21 days. What they do is detox you first, then they have classes on alcoholism, the effects on the body, and effects on other people.
Does it work? Only if you want it to work. Once someone is out of rehab, it is up to them if they want to go back to drinking or stay sober. There are no guarantees.

Rehab is great for detoxing. You learn a lot and then its up to you. I went to one, a 26 day program and then went to AA. I thought AA was a cult. But it's not. They really care and the 12 steps help you understand who you are and how to handle the stress in life. Its the best way to stay sober and clean.

i had a friend that was judge ordered to go, he didnt say what they did during the time...but it was for 30 days and whatever they did it must of worked because he hasnt drank in over 9 months
