I made a poppy seed cake and I think I cooked it too long and it tastes to dry. Is there a way to moisten it

Serve it with pudding, ice cream or lemon sorbet

That is hard. If you made a custard bottom and redo the wholecake, it will taste worse.
One way to get some moisture in it is how you serve it. Prepare a fruit based sauce such as raspberry or strawberry, not so runny but enough to be absorbed by the cake. Sprinkle confectioners sugar on the cake and part of the sessert plate, pur the sauce on the slice of cake, and garnish with a fresh slice of fruit on top of all that.

Here in Switzerland, they're big on pouring a bit of Liquoer over their cakes, but it must be something like Southern comfort or apricot brandy for your cake. it really is good, and it would moisten it. You could also top it with whipped cream,or vanilla ice cream.

Use jam - depending on where you live you might call it jelly. Take a few tablespoons and heat it in microwave then brush over it. Its worked for me before. Hope it works. Good luck.
