Please don't tell me it means wait for a god to fix it or anything like that. The person who said it knows I'm an atheist.

It means to believe in something enough that it kind of resolves itself. I mean, don't get me wrong, I believe in God to the fullest, but having faith means to believe that something good will always happen. If your having a bad day and someone says just have faith, it means that you should just keep trying and believing and eventually you'll have a great day. It's not just with good or bad days...it's with everything.
God Bless!!

Take your pick. Twain's is my favorite. Dan Barker's is damn good too, especially considering that he was a Christian minister for 19 years.

Faith is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate evidence. Faith is belief in spite of, even perhaps because of, the lack of evidence. Richard Dawkins

Faith is an absolutely marvelous tool. With faith there is no belief that cannot be justified. Rev. Donald Morgan (b. 1933), Atheist theologian

Truth does not demand belief. Scientists do not join hands every Sunday, singing, yes, gravity is real! I will have faith! I will be strong! I believe in my heart that what goes up, up, up must come down, down. down. Amen! If they did, we would think they were pretty insecure about it. Dan Barker

Faith is believing what you know ain't so. Mark Twain

Definition:Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld.(Hebrews 11:1) True faith is not credulity, that is, a readiness to believe something without sound evidence or just because a person wants it to be so. Genuine faith requires basic or fundamental knowledge, acquaintance with evidence, as well as heartfelt appreciation of what that evidence indicates. Thus, although it is impossible to have real faith without accurate knowledge, the Bible says that it is "with the heart" that one exercises faith. (Rom. 10:10).

An Athiest never has faith. If you had ever read the Bible you would have the answer. If you do not believe in God you must be a sorry sad person. It will never be better for you. You have no soul and belong to Satan

Hmmmm well when people say that they are saying "put it in God's hands" and relax and know that you'll get through it somehow. So since you're an athiest I guess ummm...well, you leave it in your own hands and chill with it?
