when someone snorrs or farts during sleep, is it possible for them to wake up by realizing it ?

If they snore or fart loud enough, the noise can wake them. Yes, they usually know what the noise was. I've also known of people who farted and the stink was so bad it woke them up.

I don't know about the fart part but I do know about the snore part. I sometimes wake myself up because I snore so loud, so it is possible.

I snore myself awake quite often, but my girlfriend doesn't believe she snores since she sleeps very soundly. She snores loudly and sleeps right through it.
