Because Messenger for windows depends on its facilities... This is the main reason why they are promoting it. Its the same reason why Yahoo promotes Norton Antivirus... Because they are using it for email scanning...

IE7 works on a tab system, I hated it at first and wanted my IE6 back until I realized how IE7 works. Now I like it because I can have several windows open at the same time and switch back and forth by just clicking the tabs. Its similar to Opera.

It's a great tactic most software houses use today. Release crap and let the poor user Beta test it for them.
