Either he likes to listen to the sound of your voice, or he runs out of things to say. The first is kind of nice, but the second is kind of boring, unless of course, he's a good talker in person.

If you mean he goes really quiet then I would say: Maybe he has nothing left to say, he is tired, he doesn't like to talk on the phone. Some people, expecially guys, don't like talking on the phone for a long time. If he is fine in person then let it go. I

Some men are not good phone talkers, they're better in person. Also he may be doing something else like watching sports or on the computer and since you're not you don't have his undivided attention.

Maybe that there is someone close by he doesn't want to hear the conversation.....maybe he isn't wild about talking on the phone!!!!.........would help to know how old...does he live with parents???
