I get the impression that his parents are also against this marriage............. sense you said we and our. You didn't mention your age.But you must be of age if you can get married against your parents wishes. However why don't you parents approve of this boy? Sometimes we parents know what we are talking about. Talk to your parents and listen!

Maybe your parents see something that you don't in the boy. Sometimes love is blind. I would give your self some time because usually your parents want only the best for you. Good luck to you and do some deep thinking.
