Sounds like your husband may have just been trying to put a little scare into you. He may have heard a child outside and wanted to turn that into something spooky. The running away sound could have been an animal running away, or a peeping tom just out for some sh&%s and giggles. Don't be so paranoid over little sounds or you'll worry yourself into a nervous breakdown. If there are noises, go and investigate them and find out what is making them. If you let your fears conquer you, you're only giving in to something a lot less.
