and how is it best treated.

I have had a seemingly endless rut of colds and chest infections since the beginning of October. Just getting better last week - phoned my boss to tell him I'd be back at work today (20th Nov) and then got an horrendous sore throat, as well as severe diarrhoea and 'bowel' cramps (not stomach) which have lasted since Friday afternoon right up to now. Haven't been sick with it, but the bowel 'pain' is excrutiating at times. Immodium didn't help. Went to doctor this morning she prescribed Mebeverine Hydrochloride and diagnosed Viral Gastritis + Diarrhoea.

Any tips to get rid quickly and which virus causes it?

Viruses have to take their course as horrible as they are. Norwalk is the most virulent virus and easily passed on, if someone touches something who hasn't washed their hands after being sick or using the loo then you touch it and then eat or bite your nails you can get it, also coughing & sneezing into the hand and just wipping it down themselves than shake your hand is a way of getting it and other viruses. Wash your hands after flushing and always before you eat. Dont use anything to bung yourself up with just let your body expell all the bad stuff.
