Is the UK tough towards employment of people under 25?And do you think it is fair that people under the age of 25 are all classified as reckless and lazy and most of all unresponsible? We pay more car insurance than older people and earn less money, which is not right!!

You maybe a better driver than most other under 25s unfortunately you're in the minority as has been demonstrated over countless years of insurance claims. You might not like it, but its true.

yeah so under 25s get it tough with higher motor insurance and stuff but it doesnt matter if your 25,35,45,or 65 as a bloke youre always going to pay more motor insurance than a woman anyway so get used to it. life sucks at what ever age you are, teenagers dont like the way they cant go drinking or get i.d'd all the time, twentysomethings hate the hihj motor insurance/ being thought of as lazy good for nothings, in your 30s is probably the best time as most have settled into a career and a good relationship with someone special. 40+ and your starting to go into the mid life crisis time of life. give it time and all will be sweet i assure you my friend

Think of it this way. All these older people you are criticising have started off as under 25 year olds, suffering in the way you describe. You're lucky to have a car. When I was under 25 I could just about afford a bicycle!

UK legislation states that it is now illegal to discriminate against people on the basis of their age. Either young or old.
This means it will be policed in the same way that sexual and racial discrimination is and will be open to regular review and should therefore form part of all employers interview and employement policy which can be audited at any time by an independent body.
Insurers are entitled to view risks that are statistically sound and price accordingly. Short of knowing you personally it is the only fair way to price insurance. As you gain experience and fail to have accidents their confidence in you will grow.!

Cheer up. One day you will be as old and bitter as me.! LOL.

I hate being under 25 because we get nothing from the government. they say they want more people on the property ladder but don't pay us more money or let us off with any taxes!

I went to do a modern apprenticeship at the age of 20 that paid me £80 per week, the rent on my house alone was £85 per week! I had to work full time at my apprentice placement and 30hrs a week at an off license on evenings and weekends just to live. When I went to the council to see if I could get any help they said I could only earn a maximum of £45 a week to receive any help but the money they were going to give me would only cover 50% of my bills.

They say they want more people in employment they have to give us a chance. Why give working tax credits to 25 and overs aswell, don't we deserve a chance??!!

I'm annoyed now

It is unfair, and they only get away with it because of our age. Imagine we wentround saying anyone between 25 and 65 were arrogant snobbis, ignorant, lazy stupid and ugly, and for that reason they have to pay the same national Insurance while earning less and paying more for services, they would soon sort any problems out.

I am a student, work part time and still have to pay the same amount as any other full time person for the bus, going to pictures or for food, yet earn less. It is total rubbish. There is a huge ageism problem in this country

yes the law should be tough on under 25s. life isn't a free roller coaster... those who are prepared to work, won't notice, only those that don't.
as for car insurance... well, under 25s are more accident prone... so that is the price. if you're under 25 and don't want to pay it, i would recommend public transport... you should be saving your money to buy a house not spending it on a car and assuming that your parents will pay for everything else.

Never mind love - not long and then you'll be classed as too old to be employable - once you hit 40 apparently you're over the hill and not worth employing !!! It seems in the space of 15 years you can leap from being inexperienced to 'over qualified' whatever that means xxx

Under 25s aren't always worse off, they get cheaper train travel with the young persons travelcard.
