In France primary schools are all closed Wednesday and kids go to school on Saturday morning.
This is supposedly to give the kids a break in the middle of the week, but in practice it means :
1. All working parents have to find childcare arrangements for the whole of Wednesday
2. Everyone's weekend is cut short by half a day so if you want to take your family away it's not ideal.
In summary I'm certainly not in favour of Saturday school if it means cutting down in the week. But if it's optional and for activities such as sports, arts, etc then it would be a good way of giving time to kids to do other activities.

Yes Saturday school should be abolished.
In every school they teach us that India have got independence .
I'll tell you frankly Indian students have not got independence.
As a student i am telling , children have been burdened with work and Saturday is a extra burden.

i would defineltly say so.
'cause we will already have lots of homwork for the weekend.
'cause its time for a relxaing and chilling
'cause its boring when everyone else in other schools are having a good day.
i am student and i think we should have saturday's off.
i g to a school in uk, where we get saturdays off. but my previous school in another country: they had classes on saturdays and other holidays except sundays. so the teachers can finish the curriculum in time and do they don't get sacked! i do feel sorry for my old friends!

Here in the USA, kids go to school Monday - Friday with lots of time off for holidays and conferences and snow days. They are out of school more often then they are in school. And it shows in their lack of knowledge about basic school subjects.
I'm all for sending kids to school from the beginning of September until the end of June, 6 days a week, from 7:30 am until 4:00 pm.

it shouldn't if it is to help students who need extra help. otherwise i think it will be too much to put students through learning from Monday to Saturday. as the saying goes all work and no play makes jack a dull boy.
