If you are in America...first divide the money up and put a portion into several different banks. Then pick your favorite bank, and buy US Savings Bonds. At today's maturity rate, the amount will double in ten years. Next, pick your favorite (reputable) company or companies, and purchase some shares of stock. You'll need to do your research to make sure you pick a high dividend stock. Stay away from CD's and Money Market...too risky. DO NOT give your money out freely to "friends" and "relatives". It is YOUR money and NO ONE has a "right" to it except you and your spouse and children. Good luck!

Er... Girl or guy, not knowing how to spend money is a universal problem.

What I would suggest is saving some away for rainy days.
As for the others, indulge or invest or both. It's yours to do what you wish.

On a brighter note, you can also use it to help someone in need... Not all at once but in some way.

Invest!!!

You can take some of it and splurge...get some things for yourself and your family & friends. But use the majority for savings and investments. According to how much you won, you can invest in it and live off its interest! Get a good financial advisor to help you make good decisions for your FUTURE.

PS. Let the advisor HELP you make the decision, not make the decision for you!

Good luck!
