We spent Christmas there a couple of years ago and didn't have any problems.

How about an answer from a frequent visitor?

Now, I go to Sharm at least twice a year, have been doing so for the past 15 years, I visit during summer, winter, autumn, spring you name the time.

I never ever had a serious problem with mosquitoes at any point of time. It has never been an issue for me, nor for any of my friends.

December is cold in sharm, so do not worry, even if there are mosquitoes in Sharm, they will not be active at all in winter. If you are desperate, then You will find all sorts of pesticides and insect repellent remedies widely available in any super market there.

Enjoy Sharm

Generally speaking, I don't think you'll have any insect problems during your December vacation. However, I still suggest you bring any kind of insect-repellent along for when you go to grassy areas, which are sometimes full of bugs.
