hi everyone, ve got my first scan wednesday am so scared incase they anything is wrong, i dont know how far gone i am for defo my last period i had started on the 14th august. am 21 and fit and healthy. do think everything will be ok? when do you start to show?

Don't be scared, it's the coolest thing. I had my first scan just under two weeks ago and I was so paranoid that something was wrong before we went, I think I drove my husband a little crazy!!!
My last period was on 22nd August and I'm thirteen weeks tomorrow so you must be about 14 weeks.
We were so amazed at the first scan, we both blubbed our way through the appointment! It was amazing just to see little bean sat there, he even moved his head when the nurse pushed the scanner onto him....as if he was annoyed we were waking him up! I'm 13 weeks and am starting not to fit into my work clothes but some people can go for ages without showing.
Basically, if you're generally healthy, there's no reason you're baby shouldn't be :o)

I know exactly how you feel, I was never ok until I saw the baby had 2 arms, 2 legs, a good size belly! 2 eyes, a nose, etc... then I felt much better. You will still be very small by the time they do your scan about 12-13 weeks maybe? so you wont be able to tell much, but if you have felt healthy and fine with no complications at all so far then I wouldn't worry about it. And if this is your first pregnancy, you won't show until around week 20.

Im having my 4th baby and I was still just as scared and excited to go to the scan. Its always scary when you start to worry about all the things they can tell you that are wrong. But dont worry about it. Each scan Ive gone too, always turns out great and I worried for nothing. When you start to show is different for everyone., but with my first I was around my 5th month. With all of my other pregnancies i showed alot sooner. Congratulations! Everything will be great:)

I am also going for my first scan on wednesday. You don't have to be nervous at all. It is ver exciting and it gives you a bond connection to your baby. I am now presgies with second one and Iam still excited.

You will start showing with in the next 6 - 8 weeks.
Your due date is about the mid april to end april 2007.

hi there! I know how you are feeling! I am nearing the end of my first pregnancy (39 weeks) & will never forget my first scan. Both my partner & I thought it was the most amazing thing you could see like! Enjoy it because it will stick with you forever. I will never forget this little fetus on the screen, it was so clear & the little legs were moving back & forth! total surreal like! The sonographer referred to him/her as a little 'wriggler'. Seems like so long ago way back in May & I can mind it clear as day! Now I just can't wait to meet my fully grown baby! They will measure the length of the fetus & can roughly estimate you many weeks you are and may alter your EDD ( expected delivery date) if the scan shows different size from what was expected on screen! If you've been healthy then you will be fine. My first scans (2 babies!) I was petrified that they wouldn't find a baby and that the whole thing was a mistake so I was just like you. Make sure you drink lots, not to the point where your gonna burst, and make sure you ask for your picture and lay back and enjoy the first peek at your baby....its the best experience and one that you will cherish. Hope it all goes well.
(A little tip, make sure you've got easy waisted clothes on as you have to push them down quite a bit - NOT TILL YOU FLASH so dont worry about that).

It is nerve-racking on your 1st pregnancy. I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was approx. 22 wks. I was scared but as soon as I saw the screen with my baby I shed tears of joy. I started to show just after the scan. Everything will be fine. Good Luck

hi hun congratulations, there is nothing to worry about your 1st scan is called your 'dating' scan and they will tell you how old your little one is. and it is so overwhelming to see your little bundle of joy for the first time knowing he/she is growing inside you. your feelings are very normal though especially because in early pregnancy your hormones are all over the place.
showing- it differs from person to person hun i had quite a bump by 3 months but you will just notice you have become rounder and lost your hips to start with and then you will start getting bigger, i loved everyday i got bigger so people could see i was pregnant without having to tell them.hee hee

Congratulations on your pregnancy,No need to be scared you are about to see your first child for the first tI'me,what a magic moment im sure that it will be OK it sound,s like you are about 9weeks so baby will still be tiny there seems no reason for there to be any problems so sit back and enjoy the ride

I just had my first scan and felt exaxtly the same. It was becuase I want this baby more than anything.
It's amazing seeing there is actually baby growing in there and seeing the heartbeat flash.
Enjoy what an experience.
