No, not really. Some gay people choose to act heterosexual and marry and have kids but somewhere there lurks the attraction to the opposite sex...urges that just won't go away. I know a gay man that used to date girls in high school but it just didn't work out and now he is happily living with his boyfriend. Sometimes I wonder if the fact that he was sexually abused by an uncle when he was young had anything to do with his being gay now.

As far as a habit and an urge (on its basic non-emotional level) I agree. But from what I have gathered from my gay friends that it's their feeling they were born that way, that maybe only about 5% of all homosexuals cross over out of bitterness with past relationships or whatever. So I'd say that sexual orientation is genetic.
