My birthday is 9 days before Christmas. Growing up in a poor family was tough enough let alone and with that added birthdays always sucked.
On the other hand, as an adult I have had many combo birthday/Christmas/holiday parties that have been way cool so I feel like it has balanced out.

Yuppers! My Birthday is today Nov. 20th. (YAY!) And my parents are the only ones that are going to bother with getting me anything separately for my birthday. The rest of the family waits till Christmas and does the combo thing. It isn't the presents that bug me so much -- it's that no one bothers to even call me!! My friends try to do better than that thank goodness, but being this close to the Thanskgiving holiday as well -- no getting folks together, everyone is too busy.
I think my parents get it because Mom has the same birthday as her Dad and Dad's bday is Dec. 31st so he is always ripped off!

My niece's birthday is 5 days after Christmas and her parents have already told everyone that combination gifts will not be allowed. It sucks that everyone else gets two presents a year and then you only get one, even if it is "bigger" or "more expensive".

My birthday is in January. I never really get what I want for Christmas because people are always wanting to save something for my birthday. It used to bother me more when I was a kid. It infuriates me only when my boyfriend does it.

Christmas wasn't celebrated until after his dying, so he does not are turning out to be twin Christmas and birthday promises. besides, Jesus exchange into Jewish, not a Christian, so if between the 8 days of Hanukkah fell on his birthday, he could are turning out to be twin Hanukkah and birthday promises.

my birthday is January 9th (and now that you all know...presents are welcomed hehe) so I don't think I've ever felt ripped off because they usually get 2 separate gifts :)

If a kid YES
If an adult No.
Getting laid is the best gift of all. Consolidation is not so bad.
