Let me bring you up to date for 10 points:
Stamford employees are getting merged in with the Scranton branch. New arrivals include Karen, Andy, a brunette lady, a black man, Andrew Gardner, and of course, Jim. Pam is really excited because she gets to see Jim again and thinks that it will be just like old times.
There is some tension in the office as the new arrivals get settled in. Dwight and Andy struggle against each other to be Michael's number 2 guy. Ryan does not give Jim back his old chair, and things aren't the same between Jim and Pam after the night they kissed and he moved away to Stamford.
As part of the welcoming of the new employees, the arrivals get a goody bag, Michael has a breakfast meal for them in the conference room, and does this lecture on "integration." Michael thinks he is doing a great job coordinating these events but the new employees are not impressed, except for Andy since he wants to make a good impression.
During the "integration" meeting Michael has the new people sit on chairs that are on top of a table. He wants to make a point that the current employees are not above them. Then he tells Andrew to join the others sitting on the table. Andrew tries to explain that he can't get on the table and sit on the chair (for obvious reasons) but Michael does not get his reason. Michael and Dwight try to help Andrew on the table and Andrew yells and quits because the managerial area (Michael) is not working for him. Michael fires Andrew.
The integration meeting didn't go so well, so Michael tries something else. Michael tries to bring everyone closer together by staging a scene, that Bob Vance and his crew deflated everyone's tires and that they have to work together and get back at Bob Vance. Everyone's tires are deflated except for Michael's but he says he got an even worse thing done. He got a note (allegedly from Bob Vance and Vance Refrigeration) saying how bad the Scranton office branch is. No one believes Michael and everyone returns to work. Pam sees Jim and Karen together, talking. She sees that there is something between the two the whole day, and is a little upset.
Throughout the day, the new people and the current employees get to know each other. Kevin gets a paper shredder and tries to see whatever he can shred. He even shreds his credit card. Stanley and Ryan explain that Michael is very eccentric and you get used to him, or at least you put up with his antics.
It has been a long day, and Jim is in his car about to leave and meet Karen for a drink somewhere when he sees Pam. He goes to talk to Pam and tell her that it's been weird between the two of them the whole day. He also tells her that he is sort of seeing someone. Pam says that they are friends and it is good to have him back at Scranton. Jim goes back to his car and is a little confused
