If you have a bacterial infection, you will need antibiotics. Drink warm or hot liquids. Ibprophen will help with the pain.
Consult a doctor about this problem. You may have a deviated septum and that will require surgery. If you are prone to sinus problems, it is the best help.
I am having it done this Friday.

Please see a doctor.
The best thing for it is, irrigate the nasal passages, with salt water.
You can make your own or buy a bran call ocean spray.
Buy one bottle and then make your own, save the bottle, clean it and reuse the bottle.
The other thing is to use humidifier.
Next is to find the cause, air cleaner to remove dust and other allergens, but if infected see a doctor and take some thing for it, anti - biotic, drying agent to clear the stuff, then do not let it reoccur.

Advil Cold and Sinus or Aleve Cold and Sinus work for me.
As for food that will open up your sinus's....... Well almost any food that is very hot and spicey will open up your sinus's. Try chili with lots of black pepper, chyane pepper, halapino peppers and any other hot spice. Make it as hot with spice's as you can stand it and then add just a little more
