I use a lint brush to remove lint from furniture, clothing etc. Of course the lint just gets transferred to the brush. What's the easiest way of removing the collected lint from the brush?

Use a length of masking tape. Apply the sticky side to your lint brush and it will cleanly remove the lint.

Rub the fibres in the opposite direction, which will allow the lint to ball up and come off. Rub hard.

It's really early for me, so forgive this. I suggest wiping the brush off on a wool skirt, especially if it's a Black skirt,,, smiles.

Actually, seriously, get one of those sticky things, and dispose of the sticky when full.

It feels smooth or rough depending on which way you run your hand across it. Just run your hand across it in the direction it feels smooth.
