For Thanksgiving day my wife and I go to my sisters house for a traditional dinner. We all bring something and she cooks the bird. The following Sunday he family and our children get together and I roast a 20 -25 lb top round roast and we all pig out. Turkey is easy just follow the directions on the package. Don't stuff it use stove top with a little Turkey fat for flavor, canned cranberries Mashed potatoes.Gravy is easier yet. let the drippings from the Turkey cool a bit skim off fat. melt butter in a fry pan mix flour and brown it . mix the flour and butter in the drippings until it is thick if it gets to thick add water. bake squash, boil some fresh gbeans.

For a good old southern meal: Turkey and dressing (Stove Top in the box), turkey gravy in a package or jar, candied sweet potatoes, potatoe salad, collard greens (seasoned southern greens in the can are good), macaroni and cheese, cranberry sauce and rolls. Have everyone bring a dish or go to a restaurant and see if you can buy it. If you want to make everything fresh, go to the web for recipes. Start in plenty of time.

This is my first ThanksGiving as a married woman, so we will be eating with my parents (my husbands family is in Michigan and we're in Alabama). My mom is cooking a turkey, cornbread dressing with gravy, potato salad, cranberry sauce, fruit salad, pie etc. I am bringing Ambrosia Salad (fruit, cool whip, coconut etc.), green bean casserole, and veggie casserole.

I am having ham, mashed potatoes, baked beans, deviled eggs, rolls, dressing and coconut cream pie. If your not a very good cook I would say buy your dinner pre-cooked. Take the easy way out.
