No, it's not funny what-so-ever. Who are they to judge who's heavy and not? Saying hurtful rude comments about someone's appearance, personal opinions, or lifestyles are the things that increase anorexia, bulemia, and suicidal attempts. Reading this you may think i'm being hypocritical, and I probably am because I have made fun of all different kinds of people. However, I am not proud of it, I regret it, and I believe that is another serious problem within our communities. Why is it that fat women are hideous and disgusting, but heavy men are perfectly acceptable? Look at these comedians...I don't even consider it a real job. Going to school to learn better ways to tease and make fun of other's.....that's sure something to write home about. The thing is heavy women need to realize that you need to try your absolute hardest to ignore it, and live the life you are in for who you are. Each person in this world gets made fun of whether they know it or not, nobody is perfect. But you are the only one who has control over who you chose to listen to and ignore. I think it takes a lot of determination to lose all of that weight, and personally I think you should lose weight for the longer lasting life, not the appearance. Obviously you're going to feel self concious, but it's your choice whether you want to pretend it doesn't bother you or take action and try and lose the weight. I support so many people in doing that, talk to a doctor for help, join a support group....but don't let other's comments bring you down.

yes it does. I am overweight because of a medical condition and when they start talking about weight issues I just turn it off. If it is an overweight comedian I will listen because he is making an attempt to make other overweight people laugh.

It bothers me when people make fun at someone's expense and tell hurtful, insensitive jokes, so yes, that includes making fun of overweight women. I think it's stupid and immature to make fun at other people's expense.
People spend a lot of time making overweight people feel bad about themselves and ruining the last bits of self-esteem they find in them and then turn around all surprised and judgmental over them not being able to lose weight easily. I suggest that such people actually try to locate their own brain and use it to figure out that it's a lot harder to achieve anything if your self-esteem is non-existent and you have no faith in yourself and your ability to succeed. Duh!

they're comedians, they make fun of all kinds of people. Honestly I can't even remember the last stand up act I watched involving jokes about fat women. It's actually kind of a rare joke topic. You're too uptight

It's a turn off for me any time a person gets their laughs at someone else's expense.

It bothers me too. And what really bothers me is that my husband does it too. I tell him all the time to stop being rude and so on, but he just keeps doing it.

nope cause being fat you have control over. i think anything that one has control over is laughable. if i dye my hair pink and yellow polka dots and people make fun of me they have every right to do so because I chose to dye my hair that way...on teh other hand if i was born disabled and people make fun of my disability then they have no right to make fun of me because i did not choose to be disable. understand?
