Some people have mobiles but dont have them constantly glued to there ears. Or sit with there nose against the screen texting people. Mobiles make people very rude.
I have two. One of them is my personal mobile which i will answer when it rings. The other is on all the time but is the emergency number for when i get called up.

For emergency calls they are ideal. However as a coach driver it isn't always safe to answer mine, I mean would you like to risk your life to my hands when I'm talking on a mobile insteadf of paying attention to driving ???

I'm not allowed to use my mobile phone during work hours, so it is switched off during the day. All my family and friends know this, so they don't ring me while I'm at work.

Well personally I feel telephones are there for our convenience and not the other way round.
If my landline or mobile rings and I don't want to answer it or cannot then I don't, surely that's how it should be!

Many people only carry mobiles to make emergency calls. They do not carry them for inane social chit-chat. Unless, of course, if they have given their number to you specifically and then never answer - that's annoying!

I do that. Sometimes it's because I don't want to talk to the person.
However if I just don't want to talk to anyone and want a bit of peace I turn it off altogether

Just emergency purposes! I think some people have mobile phones just for the sake of having them...don't worry those guys are just silly if they don't use it...

Emergencies. Or a way to check who's ringing to see if they want to answer ;)
