Blood is the oxidising element of our body. Its function is to carry out oxygen throughout the body with the help of haemoglobin.
Plasma is the liquid part of blood. Its function is to keep the Red Blood Cells together, in the form of a liquid, which we call as blood.
Serum is a yellowish liquid that comes out of a healed wound. When our skin gets cut at some point, White Blood Cells come over immediately to that part of the body and start killing the entering germs. Finally, when the work is completed, all the dead White Blood Cells, dead germs and lot of plasma ooze out of the wound in the form of serum.

Whole blood , plasma and serum are the three types of blood specimens. Whole blood is composed of plasma plus the cellular elements, (so anticoagulant is added to prevent coagulation) While serum is the supernatant fluid obtained when clotted blood is rimmed and centrifuged. Plasma on the other hand is the supernatant fluid when clotted blood has been centrifuged. Plasma and whole blood has an anticoagulant added, while serum has no anticoagulant. Difference between Whole blood and plasma is that whole blood has cellular elements while plasma has no cellular elements, Plasma has fibrinogen while serum has none. Because of this serum is clearer than plasma.
In serum blood was allowed to clot while in plasma it is not allowed. Plasma does not need standing , serum needs to be stand for clotting. Plasma is not rimmed but serum is rimmed.

I've Forgotten Exactly, But Whole Blood has RBCs and Clotting Factors, Plasma, I Think, Lacks Only the RBCs (See FFP [Fresh Frozen Plasma]), Serum., I Think, Lacks Both RBCs and Clotting Factors, But Retains Many of the Proteins, Primarily Igs and Albumin.

Blood plasma is the liquid component of blood, in which the blood cells are suspended. Plasma is the largest single component of blood, making up about 55% of total blood volume. Serum refers to blood plasma in which clotting factors (such as fibrin) have been removed. Blood plasma contains many vital proteins including fibrinogen, globulins and human serum albumin.
Plasma resembles whey in appearance (transparent with a faint straw colour). It is mainly composed of water, blood proteins, and inorganic electrolytes

blood constitute two part ie plasma and cells... in cells it constitute RBCs, WBCs and plasma constitutes certain proteins, inorganic, organic ions etc
The clear yellowish fluid obtained upon separating whole blood into its solid and liquid components after it has been allowed to clot. Also called blood serum or medically we can say that "The clear fluid obtained from whole blood by removing blood cells, platelets and fibrogen; it is blood plasma without the fibrogen "

Blood is composed of plasma(fluid) and corpuscles(RBC, WBC and platelets). If you remove all the corpuscles, you get plasma.
Plasma contains a number of proteins, carbohydrates, cholesterol, ions etc.Of the several types of plasma proteins, just remove fibrinogen. This can be removed by precipitating it out into fibrin. Once you remove fibrin from plasma, this fluid is now called serum.
In other words, blood minus corpuscles is plasma.
Plasma minus fibrinogen is called serum.

blood is the fluid running in your circulating system, when you remove blood cells from it,it becomes plasma and serum is the ultrafiltrate of plasma.(i.e.,plasma- it's protein content)

serum is the liquid part of blood AFTER coagulation, therfore devoid of clotting factors as fibrinogen. plasma is the liquid, cell-free (by centrifugation, for example) part of blood, that has been treated with anti-coagulants
