this is in adobe photoshop cs. I want to get some part from a picture, like a face, and put it in a different picture. How do I do it?

Copy the photo and paste it as a new layer on top of your back ground image. Then in the layer window click on the layer mask icon. Select the layer mask then go over and select a fuzzy paint brush tool. Paint over the mask with black as your color until you "paint" out the parts of the photo you don't want to see. This works better then the lasso, cut and paste method because the fuzzy brush blends your photo better.

I would think it would be the same as if you where in a word document first you need to highlight what you want to transfer then at the top in your to icons there is a Edit button do a CUT- COPY- then go to the page you want to put the item make shore your blinking kersor is in the spot where you need the item then open Edit again click PASTE. And wait.

Use lasso or another selection tool of your choice to select the face. Copy, and paste onto your background image.

there will one tool which selects the boundary automatically when u move the cursor.select ur part with the help of that and cut that with help of another tool.now u can move where ever u want

On the toolbar select the lassoo it will cut your image exactly.
