...then why did they make a 101-200g large letter cost 65p to post? Can't they cost everything in multiples of 32p to simplify things? Who's going to chase people for the 1p difference?

They don't chase for a penny.

If someone posts something with insufficient postage for 1st, it'll go second class. So you'd be wasting money.

If there's not enough for 2nd class, even if it's 1p short, you get a card through the door instead.

This card will inform the recipient that if they want their letter they have to pay a POUND, plus the missing postage. So you either have to take the card to the sorting office or post it with enough stamps to pay the fee.

dumbasses they have competition all over the place the rm group raised the prices becuase they need the money becuase the total company revenue is reducing so they need to maintain that they get enough money coming in so in theory if it means raising the price of a stamp by a whole 1p even by the scale and weight of a letter to post and and use their production efforts for the mail then yes thats what they will do to address such it means the company are producing the same and making some error of profit... dumbasses...

Maybe there's an over stock of 1p stamps, or maybe they've made a special batch of 65p stamps

That would be too easy, they are trying to rake more money in this way.

Because they can and they've not got any competition, so we have to pay it no matter what.
